Some climbers have been asking in a rather subtle way and with various levels of concern about the permit system for Waterval Boven:
IT ONLY APPLIES TO MOUNTAIN BIKING!
If you are coming to ride, please be so kind to get a permit form Roc 'n Rope (013 257 0363) or Tranquilitas (Alwyn 072 228 1643) for using the trails and PLAY STATION and sign the indemnity. Why?
Because mountain biking, unlike climbing, is dangerous, people fall off and Tranquilitas Adventure Farm does not want to take responibility bla-bla-bla etc. and so on.
Also, and almost more importantly, we (interested parties who happened to enjoy riding MTB) want to build a track record of managing a permit system so that we can convince the owners of forests in the surrounding areas that we can manage a permit system responsibly.
It also helps us to get some money in the kitty to employ some local guys to keep the trails maintained and keep expanding.
