So some friends and I headed to Grabouw to do Suicide gorge today (after checking yesterday that it was open after the rain) only to get the gate and be told the routes have been closed since Friday - thanks Cape Nature, thanks a lot, for that petrol cost...

Anyway relectant to wait our drive out we ended up walking on the Perdeberg mountain path just outside Elgin. Mad views of Hermanus and billions of perfect boulders about a metre high - if only they were 5 times the height...

Anyway amoungst the midget boulders were many many human sized ones - some of which we screwed around on (sans rock shoes, chalk and a pad) and had a blast. We saw one or two serious potential problems. Anyone actually climbed up there?
