Inspired by the Forum Topic relating to Crim, I decided to start a list of Watering Holes (Places to get a drink after a hard Days Climbing)

Some of my Personal Faverits are.

\"Truck Stop 11\". Near Swinburne. (Thumping tunes)
The Tavern at Bover, On the way to the Waterfall Crag.
\"Thlalapansie Bottle Store\" at Shongweni Dam.

I never stay too long, just go in ,get some booze and leave. No problems.

Any other suggestions?

Dave your favourites all seem to follow the same theme, all being shabeens. Is this how you choose to support the local communities surrounding various climbing hotspots? Nice!

Another good one is the \"on the bend\" watering hole on the way home from Fernkloof, via Krugersdorp.

I too am a supporter of the 'local' watering hole.

Well Dave, there's not much to 'discuss' here. You either know of your favourite watering hole or you don't. It's hard to hurl insults when you're stating facts...

If you like though we can start a personal/provinsial argument.

You first...

Oooooooh, you cut me deep Dave.

Ok, here goes. How can you have three favourite watering holes you ass? The word favourite would imply your single best spot, dumbass. You have a terrible understanding of the english language and your spelling could do with some work too. You know, that's the problem with you KZN people, poor english (e.g. \"Fish\" and not \"Fush\") and a general apathy towards perfection. You are bringing the entire country down.
Shame on you!

Thanks guys for the lighter side, was beginning to hurt my lil brain trying to decipher all those badly spelt insults!

My fav waterhole is the boot of my buddy steve's car cos it always has a couple of cold one's for the road home. Otherwise any dodgy pub will do...

First week checkin out these forums, gotta put my oar in while its still fun.

The Square & Compass in Worther Matravers, Dorset, South England.

After 30 minutes walking up the hill from the sea cliffs in the English rain & mud we appreciated the warm mulled cider :D. They also claim to have the oldest fish turd in the UK in their fossil collection!
