Good Day

Does anyone know the name of the route just left of the 19 at the pumphouse, lower silvermine and perhaps what the grade is?

Thank You

Unless its a new route, it would be "In your face 21"

....didn't get much of a response. Who knows!

DJM, did you try climb it? What did you think? The first bolt is a way off the ground if you've heading up direct (but then I generally get terrified by run outs of more than 1m), so I used a cam up the first section.

Not knowing too much about its grade I ended up back climbing on TR from the 19 on the right, I didn't spend too much time on it...and it seemed like the crux was right at the top, just before the anchor.

Hi there

Yes I tried it, but only on top rope since I did not know anything about the route. I also found the crux to be before the anchors and got stuck there. The last bolt is a bit left from the anchors and the face is clean straight up, but found a possible way just a bit to the right.

Interesting route, wil try and work it this weekend depending on the rain.

I opened something near there once. A slightly overhanging wall left of a corner, hard move at the top. Maybe a long move to a pocket...

No idea of the grade I think it's between 22 - 27 but that might not be right.

I think you should redpoint it, name it what you like and claim it as your own since I am out to lunch on any details.

cheers
Jeremy

I just hope it isn't someone's project, where instead of the usual red tat or missing hangar, they used the 'missing first bolt" method of marking, which may also indicate they are not local. Maybe wait a short while to see if anyone knows anything, but I suppose there's not much more one can do if no-one claims it?

Sorry guys, the Jeremy message only found its way onto my screen after my posting. Pls disregard my message above if it seems to be Jeremy's route.

I believe strongly in letting someone finish their project. I asked about it over a year ago...and nothing, so not sure where that falls in the gray area of letting a FA be completed.

What about Gaston? From their response to my previous post, they may already have opened it!

DJM, if you are going to take it on this weekend, then let me know, wouldn't mind working it too (I'm not convinced I can put it all together, but I do have cams to protect the direct start).

Well many moons ago, I scribbled new route details into me olde route guide as I came across the info. So not sure where I found it, but have that route as 'London Burning, 24, J. Samson'....
