The University Sports Administration is beefing up security this year. You will notice the signs at the wall stating that if you do not have an access card to the OLD Mutual Sports Hall you will be asked to leave the venue. Registration forms will be available this evening (Tues 25 Jan) at the wall. However, I recommend that you go to the Student Union Building on UKZN Howard College Campus and fill in a form at the sports admin office. This way you will receive your access card immediately. Bring along ID sized photos. There are banks on Campus where you can make the deposit. If you are a UKZN student or staff member the fee will appear on your fee statement but you still need to fill in a registration form and bring along photos.

The reason for the increased security appears to come from a massive reduction in the Sports Budget from the University. There has been a great deal of problems regarding the maintenance of the sporting facilities and the only way to improve this situation is to increase the number of paying members.

Please bear with the new system and comply so that we can all enjoy the great facility that we have available to us.

Fees for the year are as follows:

Mountain Club Fee: R250
Student Levy: R100
External member levy: R300
Staff/ UKZN Alumni: R200 (ie if you have a UKZN degree)
