Howzit people - this is just a friendly reminder that the MRR will be happening on 16 April. Mark Johnston is busy collecting some juicy prizes and rumour has it Keith Forbes and Jimbo Smith are gonna get out their best spandex for the fancy dress prize. So don't delay, get your weekend pass / green card and pen the date in. The event will happen at De Bos so give them a call if you want to book accomodation now.

Can you provide further details of what this is exactly? When people go? How to go about booking things? Etc., etc. It would be my first year involved, but it sounds fun....

Oh... and is Montagu dog-friendly?

The comp happens on Saturday the 16th of April.
It is a competition, but the emphasis is on having a good time.
Same as last year, we will have a party in the Courtyard again :thumleft:

An online registration form will be posted soon, where you can register online.

Dogs: Most of the climbing in Montagu is within the nature reserve and dogs are not allowed. Well behaved dogs are allowed at DeBos (bear in mind that they have Guinea Fowl and Peacocks with chicks).

Have a read over last years report, it will give you a good idea of the comp: 2010 Montagu Rock Rally Report

If you have any questions, post them here and we'll get back to you.

Its basically an excuse to dress up and party [with a little bit of climbing]. If you can match the show below you can guarantee the fancy dress prize :thumleft:

OK a simple bikini will do. Mankinis can go to the local bar to watch a game of Super14...... or is it 15 now?

I'm keen on going from PTA. I am looking for a car to go in or someone to ride with me. I have sponsored fuel/tolls for the trip so are there any volunteers?

Hey Justin,
Haven't heard much about the Montagu Rock Rally this year - lots of people wondering if it's actually happening... Will there be an online entry thing on climb.za? Need some more advertising of it!!

Hi there all you keen beans. The rock rally is happening, and if it seems a bit quiet its because the organisers are a tad snowed under with a few other little responsibilities :alien:

We don't have the funding for the online registration system we had last year so this here grease monkey needs to pull it out the bag and come up with a solution. Anybody who can help with a Google docs type of registration system is welcome to contact me - HEEEEEEEEEELP.............

Please be patient - we expect to have a system up next week.

Otherwise the good news is Dave Glass is organising a lekker discoteque and this year we will have some schweet t-shirts..........

Andy/Justin,
What's the beef? - a few questions:
Is it going to be like last year with certain crags included?
Does one enter as a pair or as an individual?
How much is entry?
Fingers crossed for good weather!

Thanks for putting the questions out there.

All will be revealed at the beginning next week along with online registration.
Justin

Rock Rally still on?

Wasn't it canceled due to Montagu Municipality chopping all the bolts after the "Bosch Kloof Incident"?

Hann, did you not get the memo that we need to skip 2011 and leave it for a big exiting bang & last year on the planet 2012?

Nah, you got it all wrong.

Montagu Municipality is pro bolts / climbing and they (unfortunately) do not own Bosch Kloof.
To the best of my knowledge no bolts have been chopped at Bosch Kloof.

Should read:

The closing date for online registration is Wed 13 April at 8:00pm. We need to book numbers for t-shirts and the spitbraai. No reason not to register now people - the weather is even looking good for Saturday in Montagu :thumleft:

O yes, this is my first year too.
