I replaced the hardware on the anchors of three lines at Dockside crag today, as the tackle up there is decidedly rusty. The actual bolt studs in the rock however appear in good condition. More anchor renewal is needed.
People are 'camping' at the crags again, both at Blackbeards Cave and at Dockside crags, two routes have soot damage. The route Stowaway is particularly badly damaged.
I informed both groups of people that they could not sleep there or make fires and that the fires were destroying the routes. They were friendly but did not seem to really understand the park regulations. I have also contacted TMNP crime stop who supposedly have informed the ranger concerned yet the people are still there two weeks later.
