Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a tubular wire brush (in the Cape Town area) to clean holes out?

Any decent engineering shop will have. e.g Bolt and Engineering Distributors - Hotfrog says there is one in Milnerton.

Apparently the nylon brushes are better for cleaning holes (I assume in rock and for bolts) because the wire brushes tend to smooth out the interior of the whole too much!?!

Jip, tubular, but will have to make a deep search to where we found them in the first place... :P

They doo look very sturdy though, don't think the gun shops have them that strong...

The nylon ones are fine for cleaning drilled bolt holes. Fischer make awesome ones, comes in a set of two (you will need the bigger one for 12mm holes), I also got mine form City Rock. For an el cheapo fix Pick nPay have crappy ones that work ok for 10mm holes, theyre a bit flimsy tho. Steel wire brushes are a bit aggressive for bolt holes but could be good for packets with crap in them - ditto engineering shops for those.
