Anyone know if there are established (or at least semi-sort-of-kinda-known) climbing areas in Mauritius?

I know Reunion (a short boat trip away) has a well known climbing team, and some listed crags, but I can't find a single listing for anything in Mauritius. Kreols are a pretty mad buch, so I'd assume there'd be some sort of climbing going on there..... besides up palm trees for coconuts that is!

I have read reports of the guys bouldering on the beach and one or two more serious climbs on the peaks, but I have never seen a route guide. From what i have read the rock is volcanic and sharp.

Hmmm , thanks. Might be worth taking some gear along to have a look-see. If all else fails, I'll just drink myself vrot on cocktails, ogle at the locals, and work on a tan.

Haha, Rastaman I'll let you know once I've worked out the costs 'n wotnot - still in the planning stage - hoping to be able to afford the trip. Not my first choice in holiday destinations, but it's a family reunion type vibe.... so, will see.
