anybody have a cam big enough to protect the 1st pitch of energy crisis and willing to part with it for a few days (#5 camelot or #6 friend)? quite willing to pay reasonable rent in rands or beers. will need said cam from 28 oct to 2 nov.

please let me know since i need it to save proze and vander's bacon. i already scammed them into committing to the route....

obrigado!

#6 friend is too big.

I almost thought you were trying your luck with me again. I'm not ready for a rematch yet :pirat:

I would just like to say first off that I am a slight shade of green that you are off to do Energy Crisis.

Imho you don't need a #5. I've done it twice with a #4 Camalot, you just have to place it while in the layback. You and Arno are more than welcome to use my #4 if you need it.

IMO: You can do this, but it would be preferable (less scary) to have the cam placed before establishing yourself in the layback (you want the cam pre-placed before you do the move into the layback).

Don't forget you can get a small nut inside the crack (and then you can place a #4 or run it out).

I recall MMO had a #5 Cam for rent?

thanks for the offer leebo! i have a #4 camelot however so we're good with that. i have these recurring nightmares of shorti's hairy butt narrowly missing my head on his epic plunge off EC a few years ago. hence i would feel a lot better to send arno & proze into the trenches with a proper battle axe so to speak....

I agree with Justin.

It will be difficult to place the cam while in the layback position.

I have climbed it a few times and have always only placed the nuts and then run it out to the end.

But as they say: Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Amazing route!

This was the original advice I got from SNORT before doing the route

There's more than one way to skin a cat

Look forward to hearing about it. Have fun!

Seems like for a case of beers the #5 can be rented
