Hi guys,

I'm living in europe and I have a quite complete rack of friends:

Metolius (blue, yellow, orange, red)
Camalot C4 from 0.75 to 3, one each
One Link cam (orange)

I'll come to Cape Town next year, and plan to stay there for a quite long period (1-2 years). I am not yet familiar with the type of stone and so on, so I would need your advice on the most important friends or stoppers size to have over there ? Which size would you take in double ? Is it useful to get size higher than camalot 3 ?

Thanks for your answers and looking forward to touch the SA rock !

Your rack will allow you to climb most routes. I have a #6 Dragon (same as #4 camelot) and use it often enough, but you'll be fine without it. Your small cams are also spot on. I have the 2 smaller mastercams but hardly ever use them. Full set of nuts will be fine. I double on small and medium sizes. I have a set of tiny nuts, but hardly ever use them. I don't double on cams, but I do carry a set of hexes. I'd say bring what you have and decided later what you are short on after you had a look for yourself. Basically we have a roughly even spread of gear in most places and it will usually be obvious when you need big gear.

Haha, yes Old Smelly, I stepped right in it! I can't even argue after my dismal effort in Mhlabatini this past weekend. :?
