Meentime I've used a 360' lightweight 2 for a couple of trips in the 'berg. found it to be a good one to two man tent, quite stable, recommend a good sleeping bag though and possibly attaching storm flaps as the inner is only mosquito net. Good tent for hot weather as well.

You can't go wrong with the Hilleberg range of 4 season tents, they might be slightly more expensive than the general run of the mill tent but you get what you pay for, including a lifetime guarantee.
I personally use the Nammatj 2 which is more than spacious for 2 people and light enough to carry (2.5kg) but if more gear room is needed go for the Nammatj 2GT with the extended vestibule.

It looks like the Annapurna is selling for R2000 at CUM. Did the price really come down from R3000+ to R2000? (http://www.capeunionmart.co.za/category/default.php?fk_category_id=81#

A friend of mine had one on the Berg this weekend and it stood firm like a rock in super strong winds.

Was wondering if anybody has any comments about the Mountain Hardwear Drifter 2? It seems a tad narrow but reasonably priced at MMO.

I've got the Drifter2 and I highly recommend it. It's definitely a one and a half person tent (wouldn't want to share it with anyone but my girlfriend) but the build quality is absolutely top notch and it stays as dry as the inside of a chalkbag in the kalahari.
