What is the rating for the crack in Higgovale quarry? 21/22?

Funny you should mention the quarry... i was there just the other day and i noticed that there are some new chains on that crack... although one of them has been poorly placed: there is substantial movement of the bolt and the rock sound like it wants to break

I was wandering when the ARF will start rebolting the Quarry...

If i remember correctly the crack is a 22, i have not climbed there in ages, as i don't fancy falling on some of those bolts!

The only thing the ARF should do with the revolting quarry is fill it in with concrete!

Now that's not very nice...

And i don't understand why the ARF is spending so much time on crags like the Mine, Silver Mine and The Hole... when the quarry is so much more accesable. Not to mention that the granite slab climbing is a welcomed change from all the sandstone in the cape :) :) :)

Morning Fool

If you read the last thread on Higgovale you will see that I mentioned the fact that the new anchors I put in are in suspect rock and that the other anchors where left in place as a backup. The problem at Higgovale is that the entire top band of rock is poor and that is one of the reasons people don't want to climb there anymore. I think the only thing that would help there would be a much longer glue-in bolt.

I doubt whether the ARF would rebolt at Higgovale so the option is for one of us to place glue ins on that route.
