Hi

I've got a full rack and would love to climb with you.
Let me know when exactly you would be free and we could set something up. althgough July is the wet season
and table mountain might be off limits. there are other options though for that time of year.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Kind Regards

Duncan

Hi Garvin

Thanks for the heads up about the rest of SA. I was not considering the other spots as I live in the western cape, others
further afield can help out where they can.

Keep safe

Kind regards

That time of year the Cederberg (the area around Rocklands) rock is great, you'l have some rain but not as much as further south. The Wolfberg (epically good trad), Nuwerus/Rooiberg (sport and trad), Tafelberg (amazing trad), Sanddrift (sport), Truitjieskraal (really good sport and some not so good trad) are all conveniently located close to any of these campsites: Sanddrift, Kromrivier or Nuwerus. Tafelberg is more of a walk in (2-3 hours) than the rest, it'd be better to go there for several days. Every single one of them is totally worth a visit.

Hey~!

I'm coming from Canada, arriving in Cape Town on June 1st and am looking for a partner to do some outdoor climbing as well! I've never outdoor climbed before (maybe that'll change by the time I get to SA) but I think I'm a decent indoor climber.

Ill only be in Cape Town for a few days before heading to Durban

I have my own harness, shoes, atc, but no specific outdoor gear stuff but I can get some if needed.

Let me know!

Hello there

That sounds good, I've got all the gear we need. I do sport climbing confidently on lead, I don't dig anything more than a sixteen.
But if you think you can lead something higher, you are more than welcome. We'll see how the weather goes and if all is good, then we can go for it, where will you be stating in CT? I'm in the south in an area called Lakeside, you can google it.
Looking forward to being able to take you out and about.

Kind Regards

Duncan

Bump. Finally made it to Cape Town. If anyone is free to climb next week, Table Mountain, trip to Rocklands, whatever- brilliant weather forecasted. Would be great to get in touch with some local climbers. Harness, shoes, double rack in the thin to ring lock sizes, however no rope. PM if you're free.

Cheers,
Shino

Like everyone i can do weekends, but not week days. my number is 083 264 9064, and yes, i have a pair of ropes. I'm happy to lead up to about grade 21 on trad, and will follow up to 25 without too many hassles.

Hi Shino,
I am a joburg girl in Cape Town from now - June 5 and then then I'm coming back again June 11 with some others (also from US). Would love to climb any time although won't have a rope till June 11th. After that we'll be going up to Rocklands. You're welcome to hitch a ride to rock lands and climb with us (doing 5.8 on trad or 5.9 on sport or higher on top-rope) or if you want to do any gym climbing or outdoor climbing (and you've found a rope) in the meantime give me a shout - I'd love to join you or any of the others because I'm itching to climb.
Xanthe

Will be returning to Cape Town with an eventual trip toward Rocklands in July.

Currently near Nature's Valley. If anyone from Plett has interest in climbing at The Beach - Van Stadens Gorge, send a PM. I will be around for another week.

Go check out Robberg for a bit of bouldering. It's not allowed there, so make sure you don't get caught.

WTH? And whilst you are driving by the Drakensberg, go put up a VF. It is not allowed, just make sure you don't get caught!? [Off topic, sorry!]

If you are keen to road trip all they way to Mpumalanga, you won't regret spending some time climbing around Waterval Boven and visiting the Kruger Park on a rest day. And I am not the only on of that opinion, however bias it may seem!
