Wow I'm going way back here. Friends of mine told me they climbed Jacob's in December 2011 and a second couldn't get a massive hex out and left it there. Apparently, that hex has sentimental value and tears were shed. It is Derie van Eeden's hex. I keep telling them to post it here, but no one does so here goes.

They were 5 or 6 of them on the climb and I think they deviated way out left into the big bushy crack for bigger stances, so it might be there. I'll try and find out.

I'm not even sure which one it is. I think its one of the two big ones in the pic:

i clipped that hex a few times before somebody removed it. it was placed slap in the middle of the usual hanging belay and quite deep in the massive rail. hope you manage to track it down!

we climbed the route yesterday and didnt see anything in the rail. but i think our museum dept. might have one or two of those in stock.
