Is there a trail to the top of Sneeuberg in the Cederberg? If not, is there an "established" way?

Keen to stand on the highest point of the range!

Why take the fun out of it then?

Walked up Sneeuberg many many years ago...

Walk past the Maltese Cross and a few hundred meters before you come in line with the summit (on your left) there should be path going up. It was a faint trail when we walked, but I am sure it will be more established now.

The path is pretty clear, but it gets vague and tricky at the summit.

A worthwhile buy if you are wanting to explore the area, most of the trails etc are marked.

As Arno says it is fairly straightforward to get to the summit cone. From there you need to follow the cairns fairly carefully. When it is very windy up there be careful. For rock climbers it should be no problem, but for people scared of heigths and drop-offs take extra care.

Thanks guys! So I assume this is on the north face of the peak?

Yep, got the Slingsby map as well as the Surveyor General ones. None of them indicate a trail up Sneeuberg though. After spending all my hiking time in the Drakensberg this will be my first exploration of the Cederberg so I'm pretty stoked!

Hey Gollum, if you decide to go then you must overnight at the sneeuberg hut. Its one of the gems as far as moountain huts go. Very rustic, but make sure to hang your food up high as the local mouse had a field day of ours.
