If all goes to plan I should be coming back in oct/nov to do some long multi-pitch trad and hopefully a my first big wall. It all started when I bought a 2nd hand haul bag off a friend of mine, and now I've got to do something with it. Is it terminal or highly infectious, this big wall disease?

Anyways a good friend who is very experienced has suggested \"Oceans of Fear\" to kick off and/or \"Wall of Silence\" with someone who hasn't done it before. Is my friend not really my friend or is this a good recommendation after all?

Did your friend have this look on his face when he sugested Wall of Silence Oceans would be a good start but the general rule is that if you can't handle the first couple of grade 20 pitches, rather back off as the aid is not the part to worry about.

Thanks Stu - I'm planning to be blocking grade 21 by october so should be OK. And yes, my friend did have that glazed look about his face when he mentioned wall of silence...
