Montagu Legoland

Postby Elana » Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:32 am

Hi there, I will be staying in Montagu for the upcoming long weekend at the end of April and would like to know whether Legoland is open for climbing?

Also, does anyone have suggestions of other locations in Montagu which have lower grades for climbing please? Like grades 15 - 18, and not the upper 20's which I keep finding on the websites?

thanks!

Legoland is still open, but not the other crags further up the kloof.

Other good places with easier climbing to try are The Steeple and the new crag called Bold and the Beautiful

Elana, We are about 4, 5 or 6 climbers that will also be there over the long weekend, Thursday night to Tuesday arvie. Some of the group are new-ish and some simply still suck at it, so we'll be climbing the 15 to 19 range with the odd try on something higher once or twice. There are really PLENTY of climbs in our grades around there. You are really more than welcome to join us or come chat with me, I've been to most of the crags there that you will find suitable to climb and am happy to help you find your feet/rope. We'll be climbing on all the open crags.

We are camping at De Bos. PM me your contact details and I'll send you mine if you want, else just look out for the big ass Silver Toyota bakkie with CA plates and pop in and say hi.
