New to Cape Town; from Yosemite, need trad partners!!!

Postby davycro » Thu Dec 06, 2012 12:42 pm

Hello,

I just moved to Cape Town from Yosemite and want to get tradical! I've got a rack and transport. Will be living here for a year or so. Looking to do long multi-pitch climbs on table mountain. Maybe go explore some big walls later in the year. Would prefer to climb with someone who already has multi-pitch experience.

If you go with vander, be prepared to be cold and wet. Even in midsummer. It's how he rolls. :p

Or maybe it's me...

No help at all on trad or CT front, but I have to know if your name really is David Crockett? If so, that's brilliant!

Vander's middle name is Epic!

But he's solid. :thumright
You can safely go with him - just take a headlamp :bom:

Awesome!

I was leading 5.10+ in Yosemite so I think that translates to about 20 here. I'd like to do some easier routes first because I'm not used to climbing on the sandstone here and not sure how well it protects.

My mobile is 84 671 5721.

Will remember to pack a handlamp and puffy-coat if we climb ;)

Yes, I didn't realize my real name would be displayed to the public when I registered.

Haven't killed any bears tho, sorry to disappoint

Bro,

Defo keen to hit some routes with you!!

I spent 6 months in the valley - love that place. If you can climb granite you'll have no issues with sandstone.

My number is
0827342443 I'll be in CT until 24 January (for climbing / surfing and kite surfing). Would love to hit loads of routes on Table mountain with you mate!!

Shine on,
Shane

Davy,

I'm headed that way from the U.S. in a few days. Looking to get out for a day or two. I've spent time in Yosemite.

Are you interested in climbing on Jan. 25th?
