Hi
Any South African expats living in Accra? Anyone doing any climbing out here?
Climbing in Ghana
Re: Climbing in Ghana
Hi i'm not South African and currently not living in Ghana; however, i have spent some time in Ghana and would be curious where you intend to climb? imho there isn't much climbing going on, besides the climate is not very inviting. I have enjoyed bouldering a bit on a cliff near where i used to live which might be fun to climb up (50m vertical-slightly overhanging, in a beautiful rainforest, approach about 45' from the mountain village Logba Tota, Volta region), though the rock quality is questionable at best. There must be more impressive cliffs, but again, i can't vouch for the quality of the rock, and to my knowledge there are no bolted routes in the country, but would be most interested to hear otherwise! (giving me a good reason next time to check it out). Enjoy out there! Alvin

Re: Climbing in Ghana
There are some bolted routes in and around Shai Hills and I have heard that there are quite a few climbers out here.
Thanks for the link Stefan. I will try to get in touch with them.
Justin, I will share pictures and information with pleasure. I am hoping to get out to Shai Hills on Sunday.
