Hi

I searched for landing mat thickness in google but could not find a good information.
Height of climbing wall is 2.8 metres. I'm about 1.7metres. distance between my foot to ground is
1.1metres. For kids the distance between the kid's foot to grounf will be various about 2metres.

Is crash pad 100mm thick safe? Bottom layer is chip foam (40mm thick) and top layer is polyfoam 30D (60mm thick).
Or 120mm (Bottom layer is chip foam (40mm thick) and top layer is polyfoam 30D (80mm thick).

What is chip foam?

Generally speaking thicker is better (overall thickness) with the soft foam below and the harder foam on top. I would however not use more than 30mm thickness (hard) foam for the top layer.

On a separate note, can anyone recommend someone who makes up mats in the Cape Town area (I have the foam already).?

Tx,
Justin

Chip foam is also called rebond foam. I realised that it is to hard.
Rather use closed cell foam (25mm) on top of open cell foam (75 or100mm).

I found website: http://www.rockclimbing.com/Articles/General/Beginners_Introduction_To_Crash_Pads_35.html

I have few people who will sew the material but I'm still deciding after I get foams.
