They've got frikkin laserbeams strapped to their heads!

Must admit that biner looks worring to me too. Hopefully he adjusted it before climbing past it.

Its a BD Icon [http://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en-us/shop/mountain/lighting/icon-headlamp/] - on its low setting!

And quite a nice hand held pointer.

Come check out the amazing Narrow Kloof, more beautiful than imaginable and has a climbing style too suit no other. Old school bolting, new school grading and a whole lot more to bolt in the 20s

Here is a shot of Ebert trying the same move (the beginning of the crux sequence):

Mike, I zoomed in on your photo, look's like a far reach.
Another great shot.

Thanks, Justin. It's not bad considering it was taken on my iPhone. It is a really far reach, although apparently this is not the crux move, just the first move in the crux sequence. Andrew's wizard beta.

Ebert, what is "new school" about the grading? Sandbagging is an old game. :D

Andrew wears a shirt, hiding his mutant powers

eT
"new school" bolting not only refers to the bolt only when needed policy nor the "sandbagging", but also to the age of the bolters

Okay I guess the climbing is not so much sandbagged as weird, in an awesome way. It's unique, particularly in the way there are never feet where you want them (as on the Game Over crux!). I have a lot to learn there.

Ebert,

Die akkuraatheid van jou gevolgtrekkings is iets wat ek geniet, ten minste is jy konsekwent.

Ek is oud.Julle is jonk.Julle "crush". Julle "crushing" irriteer my.Ek haat psych. Ek is desperaat vir gay-wees.Sinvolheid se baas.

Hey Brian

Apparently, if you skip the next crimp you can call it 8c+/35. I was thinking a cool name would be "Ebert's Shadow" or something like that.

@Ebert, quite possibly true. But I figure if you skip the crimp and the first finger lock it could be 9a. Particularly if you eliminate the foot lock too :jocolor:

Is this on Fernwood Buttress above the Botanical Gardens? Anyone know what grade and who opened it?

Not directly above the gardens, but more to the left (it comes into view as you come up Rhodes Drive).

The first route went up in 1906 apparently! See this post for more info Fernwood Ravine
