Arrow Final - Apple

Did you forget you favourite boots at the crag? Or, did you find some quickdraw on the 4th bolt of some route?

Arrow Final - Apple

Postby Hann » Sat Apr 05, 2014 6:14 pm

I dropped my apple jacket on Arrow Final today.

At the time it wasnt possible to down-climb and retrieve it.

It is bright yellow and on a ledge about halfway up.

Will greatly appreciate its return, if somebody happens to find it.

I didn't see the word "jacket" the first time I read this post - thought that it must have been a really special apple to you and then started wondering which of my crag snacks I would go rescue if they got dropped on a climb. But it makes more sense now that it's a jacket.

Funny, I use an apple Jacket too, and have a little bit of feedback for anyone else reading this:

On my summer ride I took First Ascent Apple, and a Due South jacket similar to it (this wasn't a deliberate duplication but rather a gift along the ride), and so it became a good opportunity to test and compare them over several summer storms along the way. While the FA was all of 50g lighter and packed smaller it was not nearly as waterproof. By the time I got to Graaf Reinet I settled on which I wanted and couriered home the FA with the stove and sleeping bag.
