Help! My quickdraws are gone!

Did you forget you favourite boots at the crag? Or, did you find some quickdraw on the 4th bolt of some route?

I hope you find them and I hope they weren't nicked. It sucks to think that a fellow climber would do such a deed.

Hey guys, yeah.. my thoughts exactly! I am really hoping this is a really bad prank.. It's not easy accepting that my draws are gone, especially because they were my first set.

Some of my gym clothes were stolen from there too this winter.

That's such a bummer. I hope they're found.

Ummmmmmm. It's a long story. In short, I find it hilarious the topics the forum users rampage on. You'd think there would be a public outcry when people rob multiple people in a facility you pay through there asses for, but instead the critics avoid topics against the monopoly and focus on crucifying individuals having fun outdoors.

So I'm laughing at everyone that didn't rage on this post.

Interesting that some individuals see themselves as being crucified when in fact all they are doing is trespassing...and possibly ruining access for all climbers along with "climbers" reputation as a whole to the farming community and general populace...

Truth is those individuals have only brought disrepute on themselves...and will continue to do so...self justification aside...
Really, its not that bad...I think it's my shoes...

Ebert this one is for you. You're a great climber but I have to question your economics. The Boulder Cave is your project right? So. A monthly membership at CR is R 520 per month. A monthly membership at The Boulder Cave is R 500 per month. It's common sense that overheads are overheads, and capital investment is capital investment whether you are an arch-capitalist or a free thinking anti-establishment philanthropist. Paying through your ass is paying through your ass. The way I see it R 20 a month doesn't change that. What is your point?

I can't believe people still pay to advertise on this site.

It's washed out.

the articles aren't even your own

The content is lousy.

Ebert contributes to your pathetic amount of content and I don't know why.

And the boulder cave is not owned by Ebert.

Thanks for the crit HansWors :thumleft:

I'm terribly sorry about the content, would you care to contribute something? ClimbZA is a platform for climbers to contribute. I am not much of a writer.
And you probably don't want to read what I have to say as I don't climb much - I just spend time deleting Forket's Wiki edits (pray do tell, what is up with Forket/MCSA and Hidden Kloof??)

Perhaps Ebert contributes so much because he's vying for a ClimbZA t-shirt.

re: "And the boulder cave is not owned by Ebert."
Thank you, I did not know that. I believed that the Boulder Cave was his doing.

Perhaps we should downgrade ClimbZA to a basic hosting package and put up a classifieds website??

Although, I hope that some do see value in having a South African climbing website (download a topo, get advice, sell some 2nd hand gear)

Hi Justin

No need to change a thing. The website has been an institution in the community since as long as I can remember. It serves a number of useful purposes for many people (including foreign visitors) and keeps us informed on the pulse of the local climbing scene.

Any website that has an open forum will always have content that ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous. That is the nature of people. Experienced forum users get used to filtering what they want to see and ignoring what does not concern them.

I must say that Ebert did lead us to believe that the Cave was HIS project and that it was all his doing - that was what was represented - I could go back and do extracts - but that would be a waste of my time...

Oh and I agree with Nic! (feels a bit funny I must say)

Ebert designed and built the place.

I just told you that he does not own the place and you go and lose your minds

A classic Trumpism. Falls over his own feet, says he didn't do anything and then blames the evil *insert dark force of choice* that opposes him.

Anyways, back to the real world.

I think in the name of love and reconciliation, everyone should work together towards the 'New quickdraws for Lilja' fund. :hapban

see nobody cares about your draws :pirat: neither do they care that it was MCSA that declared hidden open, there was even an official MCSA opening and all, only for them to realize that they got access from the wrong person (AFTER 100S OF BOLTS HAD BEEN PLACED) and now its my fault cause we cant stop going there, because we love it and have access from an adjacent farm. The owner has even emigrated to NZ and the land is in the market for 7mil. Nobody gives a flying bucket of fish scales about the little guy in this community. You'll get robbed on the MCSA/CR doorstep and not a single person except warren gives a flying f
