Wallys Cave More patrols near illegal trail after death on Lions Head

The recent tragic death on Lion's Head occurred nowhere near Wally's Cave. To use that tragedy in this manner is nothing less than shameful.

Close the path for ecological reasons while restoration work is undertaken, that's fine, no one objects to that.

Isn't the closure due to erosion?

"The recent fatality near Wally's Cave on Lions Head is a clear indication that hikers are not adhering to the access restrictions in this particular area," Collins said.

The Table Mountain National Park has closed the illegal access trail to Wally's Cave, a popular spot on Lions Head, after the death of a hiker.
The death of the hiker apparently had nothing to do with the path or cave.
Either the media got it wrong (and they often do) and/or SANParks gave an incorrect/misleading statement!?

I assume that you may climb there, so long as you don't use the path that is closed (that same path that had nothing to do with anyone's death :?

Haha, okay sure, I know one can walk in from the top of the sector, which is not the closed 'death' path, and just ab in.
Thanks
