Faye Brouard on her project at Umgeni ValleyI know Faye's hand is cut off and so are her feet - ug - but what I loved about this picture was the look in her eyes, and the way she literally looks like she's going to tear the jugular out of it. Faye's determination is unparalleled. This pic just says 'holds your friends close and your enemies closer', that fine line between loving a route and just wanting to crush it.

Faye Brouard on her project at Umgeni ValleyWhen Faye was working her project on Sunday she got to a new high point, and I think this is the shot just before she starts to throw at the crux. It's totally sustained climbing from here to the top, no room for rest so it's pretty core. Argh.

Faye's body does a great job in this shot of accentuating the curve of the rock...it's balancy, delicate and powerful all in one.
