Climbing is synonymous with travel. As climbers we get to avoid the tourist label and experience foreign places and cultures in a unique and often authentic way. There are a handful of must-see climbing destinations that demand a pilgrimage. For alpine climbing the place it all began is Chamonix.
June brought more Alpine climbing for me (my boss starts making sarcastic comments about sacking me now!).
The aim of these articles is to encourage a sense of community amongst SA alpinists and to inspire people to get out there and learn about this adventurous aspect of the climbing world hopefully under the guidance and skills of those getting the relevant experience.
