Routes/ Gradings

Not for the serioussed-up climber or ticks on an 8a scorecard, but if you're in the mood to fool around a bit there's some good fun to be had. Some of the routes are no more than boulder problems but it’s less hassle to carry trad gear than a pad (read: get other people to carry pads and go have some fun) ;-)

All routes can easily be top-roped, take a few long slings / 5m of rope and biners to set up anchors. Routes listed from left to right

The Corner Office

On the true left about 50m below the main pools there's a small wall in an elbow of the stream. Some extra longs slings might be nice if you want to use the tree as an anchor. Easy scrambling access to the top.

The Mule 18/19(?) (8m) ( True left)
Open book on the left end with a hard start dependant on your height and / or chimney technique FA Etienne Terblanche 2019

Nut Job 13 (8m) ( True left)
Easy crack / arete combination just right of The Mule FA: Emile Pretorius 2019

Chika Chika 18(?) (6m) ( True left)
Beautiful cracks up the centre of the face. Trickier than it looks. FA: Etienne Terblanche 2019

Chip of the old block 15/16 (6m) ( True left)
If only it was 20m longer…Short open book with a little crack - one fun move. FA Emile Pretorius 2019

Cafeteria

On the true left at the bottom of the loooong slide. Easy scrambling access to the top. Some cool looking possibilities before and after these routes.

Continental Breakfast 15 (10m) ( True left)
Tricky start to fun face climbing. Extra-long slings for the anchors at the top are useful. FA Etienne Terblanche 2019

Slippery slope 14 (10m) ( True left)

Office politics

Access to the top from the exit path marked by cairns, +- 30m downstream. About 50m upstream from the waterfall.

Splitting hairs 13 ( True right )
Next to the footpath about halfway from the waterfall to "Corporate ladder", beautiful crack that's again just a little short. Avoiding the blocks on the left makes for a lot more fun. Sadly the arete to the right is has some large pieces on the verge of breaking off.

Some fun bouldering on the stream bed where the path crosses again, potential for a hard line or two.

Corporate ladder 13 ( True right ) (12m)
A short scramble to a small roof which is easily surmounted, followed by slab climbing to the top. Extra-long slings for the anchors at the top are useful. FA Emile Pretorius 2019
