Multi Pitch Trad/Country Routes. The drive is +/- 4hours from Cape Town along the N7 highway plus alot of back country road drivin'. Long 3hr uphill walk-in.
It's quite a mission getting there, but once you've driven for ages through the countryside on the dirt roads and walked up the mountain without getting lost, this is truly a spectacular and beautiful spot to be and climb.
Traditional / Country climbing. Multi pitch and single pitch routes The grades vary from about 17 to 26. There is also a bit of bouldering to be done.
From Cape Town, get onto the N1 towards Paarl, then take the N7 turnoff towards Malmesbury. Stay on this road past Piketberg and over the mountain pass. Drive past Citrusdal and past the Cedarberg Algeria turnoff. Take the R364 turnoff towards Clanwilliam Town. Drive into Clanwilliam Town, (this is the last place to grab any supplies and the place to go for pizza if you're to lazy to fire your stove in the evening). Drive straight through the town and you will eventually reach a dirt road. Take that road past Rocklands, over the Pakhuis Pass and turn right towards Wuppertal. Before Wuppertal turn right again and... best to contact the MCSA for a map, full directions and RD's of the climbs. It's about 2-3 hour walk from where you park your car to the climbing.
