Sunset Arete

A new route on the prominent arête at the right hand end of the Wedwo buttress. Worth the walk.

• Start

Walk to the right hand end of the buttress. Beneath and undercut wall a large block allows you to reach the face.

1. 30m (16) (one move). Standing on the block pull up onto the wall above (the move). Head upwards, past a ledge at 15m, up past some jugs and then trend slightly leftwards to a stance at the left hand end of an overhang.

2. 30m (13) Pull round the overhang on the left hand side. Head up the musical jugs to the summit.
