20 year old Andrea Biffi recently sent Not For Sale (30/8a+) at The Scoop in Montagu.
He tried the route 3 times and sent it the following day on his 3rd go with beta from Phlip (apparently the secret is to get your feet out left on the crux 😉
Andrea feels that the grade is solid 8a+ and not 8b.
Having recently moved to Montagu from Italy he sent his first 29/8a (Cool Like That – also at the Scoop) in December. Since that time he has sent 10 routes of similar grades.
They include:
- 2x 30/8a – Bronze Up at the cauldron and Catholic Schoolgirls Rule at the Scoop
- 4x 31/8a+ – Shad and Switchbitch at the Cauldron, My Route Down by the River at Waterworld and Not For Sale at the Scoop
He also pulled off an impressive onsight of The Optimist at the scoop (27/7b+) and flashed Simply Irresistible (26/7b) at Waterworld.
We hope to see him send Chongalolo (+-33/8b+) at Waterworld soon (he has all but two of the moves dialed down).

Andrea has also been competing in local bouldering competitions, he placed first in the first Rumble comp and placed 3rd overall in the Western Cape Boulder League 2014

At last I have seen Andrea send a route. It was nice watching the video from that angle, as I was lying on my back watching from below. It was awesome to watch.
