Muggers apprehended after Sandy Bay Mugging

On the afternoon of the 17th of May 3 hikers were mugged at knife point in the Sandy Bay area.  The following night at around 22.30 the suspects from yesterday’s mugging at Sandy Bay were arrested high on Karbonkelberg after many hours of patient tracking and waiting.  Suspects were arrested and goods recovered.  Well done to SAPS, rangers and members of the public.
Please make use of @safetymountain free tracking service for mountain users by mountain users.  Trackers are just a message away to activate emergency services.
Sandy Bay and Plumpudding Hill are still on top of the crime hotspot list currently.  Please be extra vigilant and hike in 5+ groups if possible.
