Bloc 11

Bloc 11 is very excited to announce that we will be opening doors to the public on 15 December 2016.

It has been quite a journey, and we put in a lot of effort to build something we can be proud of and hope it brings everyone as much joy.

We drew upon our many many years of climbing and training experience, and invested a lot of time designing a wall that suits climbers of all levels, and that will be fun, challenging and inspiring to climb on.

With about 700 square meters of floor space, holds imported from Europe, and some of the finest route-setters in the country, Bloc 11 aspires to the best bouldering gym in South Africa.

In the coming weeks, there will be more exciting additions at our facility, making it a lifestyle centre for our lifestyle sport.

Gravity Bowl – inaugural climbing competition at Bloc11.
A two-day climbing festival competition at South Africa’s premier indoor bouldering facility to be held on Friday, the 6th of January, and Saturday, the 7th of January 2017.

The festival kicks off on the Friday evening when anyone can come climb for fun or compete for a wildcard slot on a large number of climbs varying in style and difficulty, the evening ends with live music and coffee drinks from a SA barista champion! Saturday morning, the wildcards that qualified the night before join a selection of the best climbers in South Africa in the elite leg of the competition. Two rounds determine the overall winner on the inaugural Gravity Bowl and then the evening continues with a screening of the latest, greatest climbing movie. This is followed by prizegiving, a gear raffle and capped off with more live (and not so live) music and drinks.
