Please note that the Silvermine Main and Blaze of Glory Crags remain closed.
Main and Blaze are closed because of the Rock Kestrels nesting.
Lower Silvermine and Fawlty Towers are open. So is The Mine, so there are plenty of other Crags at which to climb.
Estimated reopening date is in January.
The birds are currently feeding their chicks.
A few climbers are still disregarding the restrictions as these pictures show.
As the chicks get bigger, it is important that no one climbs past the nest because the nestlings could leave the nest prematurely if frightened.
Table Mountain National Park will advise as soon as the chicks have safely fledged, so that we climbers can resume our climbing activities.
Climbers, disregarding this closure notice blatantly puts us in conflict with Park Management and jeopardizes our relationship and of course future access. So please don’t go there. Estimated reopening date is in January.

This is an old article from 2017 that climb.co.za has republished without my input or permission.
So this is borderline #Fakenews and very uncool from climb.co.za to just change the date.
There may be some birds (or a bird?) around Pistolero, but the two crags are not officially closed. So avoid those routes….

Shame Robert.🤣 I see it’s now officially news on your own website.
Here’s a link to some comfortable knickers, since yours are clearly in a twist.
