2014 was a below average year for Ice in the Drakensberg and ice climbing fanatics had to work harder than usual (this is Africa after all) to get their fix in South Africa and Lesotho. Here is a compilation of my two ice climbing trips

This year’s MCSA Supertramp, Bernie Theron (member of Magaliesberg Section) is finally on his way to Iceland! He plans to walk around 550km unsupported without the safety net of a satellite phone or GPS in a landscape dotted by volcanoes.

At approximately 15:00 on Sunday 25 May 2014 a 28 year old male was seriously injured in an accident in the Magaliesberg Mountains and had to be rescued by an Air Force Helicopter.
