On Table Mountain's Left Face Buttress (home to the really fab Bull Nose Arete), on Sunday we made the first ascent of the last great line there, in front and centre. We deployed our secret weapon imported from the Lake District.
Birkett's Frontal has two world class pitches. The first is powerful and technical and goes at a burly 27 (or E6 6b in British). The second is vertical, pockety/edgy and beautiful - and goes at 18. Really, really worthwhile..
First ascent: Dave Birkett, Tinie Versfeld, Hilton Davies 3 March 2019

Re: Birkett's Frontal
Looks proper burly. Did you manage to free it on second?
