There are some really nice faces of quartzite over the Lower Van Stadens dam in the Eastern Cape. Last Sunday, Nov 24, I FA'ed the first line on one of these faces. We rapped in, cleaned the debris off the route and, because of how overhung it is, made a make-shift anchor about halfway down on an old tree to access the lower bit of the line. Sussed out some key holds, rapped in again, untied, started up the route, got to the rest and managed to retrieve my make-shift anchor and then opened the line. "Wet Dreams" goes at 24. Lots of wind noise in the video, brace your ears.

Re: Deep Water Solo FA
Hard to say exactly. More than 5m. Never heard of anyone diving down & measuring.
