Hi. We want to do a hiking traverse of the Towerkop mountain range and end with climbing Towerkop Peak.
I thought it easiest to do a 10 grade route(lighter gear as we have to carry a lot of water) and want to know if anyone has any Beta on one of the Chimney Routes?
It would be great if someone knows what trad gear to take with as I would prefer not to take a whole rack for a 10 grade.
Please let me know!

Re: Towerkop Peak Beta on D Route Chimney or D route Direct
Hi Christo,
Send me your eMail address to scottmj@telkomsa.net and i will send you some pictures and an RD.
If you only want to do a D chimney route then remember that is on the East summit and to climb the West summit the easiest line is Jackson's which is E3/F1 i.e. 12-13.
The East pinnacle D route can be climbed and abseiled with a 35 m rope and 3 slings, but if D is the hardest you lead then take a few nuts and 2 or 3 cams as well.
Regards,
Mike Scott
