Masters of Movement - Bear Grylls
You expect Bear to be able to fake a climbing video better than most... alas

Hmmm... you gotta wonder.
Was he rope soloing? Or did they just hide his belayer for dramatic effect
That also looks like a pretty tricky crack for approach shoes
Cool cinematography but I don't trust this Bear character and all his urine-drinking awesomeness

Where did the black rope come from and go to?
@Leebo, you're right about that being a mad climb in approach shoes. Dave Davies once told me he climbed a 26 in a pair of 5.10 Guide Tennies but that was at the Hole and footholds weren't really the issue...
Don't doubt that the man can climb but sheesh what a terrible fake

The Masters of Movement series;
Travis Rice on Snowboarding
Darren Berrecloth on MTB
Miles Daisher on Base Jumping.
All top of their respective games
Is Bear Grylls really the best climber they could find? Hardly representative of the cutting edge and quite frankly embarrassing.

You going to Montagu this weekend?
Re: Masters of Movement - Bear Grylls
Bwahahahahaha!!! Whoops! Think I just wet myself.
That is so funny, a video of clichéd poses to make Bear seem amazing. These guys have made climbing look "cool" to non-climbers (and Bear Grylls groupies) with all the boring parts of climbing; the jogging through the desert, the uncalled for jump between the two boulders, the tugging of the rope, the checking the knot, the clapping the chalked up hands, the smashing the cams and and rocks crashing around him - somehow the music adds intensity to all these boring parts. Then the climbing starts......
Hey Bear you totally missed that mono, oh yeah I forgot you're Bear Grylls you're like Chuck Norris you don't need holds you just slap vertical rock, slap it into submission.

From another point of view, this video could make rock climbing more appealing to the general public.
You don't need any fancy gear to go rock climbing, your running shoes will do fine. Don't worry about getting too many of those spring metal things 3 or 4 of them will... throw in a rope, a little baggy, cool watch and a 'Can Do' attitude.

I recently spent an hour rigging on a cliff that overlooks the mighty Platteklip Gorge.
I was about to throw rocks if I heard another tourist exclaim "like Bear Grylls" just one more time...
This dude is probably responsible for half the rescue-callouts, ever

Did you know his real name is Edward? I guess Teddy is not really an appropriate name for one so macho.
I find it hard to put into words how much i detest him.
