What is the procedure if you want to hike for a few nights in the Drakensberg?
Do you buy a permit at the spot you enter the reserve or do you have to book in advance?

There used to be a limit on the number of people who could do the chain ladders each day, not sure if this still applies. Otherwise there are no limits I am aware of (other than group sizes being limited to 12). You don't need to book for overnight hiking permits though.
