Can you give an honest assessment of the safety/security at those crags please? I know of muggings and worse happening at Morgan Bay.

Also, is it trad, sport or both? If there are bolts, what is the history?

The bolts are not to be trusted. The climbing is mostly trad and with the age and condition of the bolts, one should rather stick to the trad. I've been climbing at Morgan Bay for 16 years and have not ever had a problem with security.
If you really want to climb some of the sport routes, first put up a back-up top anchor system and check the bolts before you lead. A 17 spanner will undo the nuts and check for corrosion where the stud enters the rock. It will be a mission. And if I get there before you, I will strip the routes that I bolted.

Muggings and worse at Morgan Bay???
Are you sure you have the right place?
I have been there several times with my family, most recently December 2014, and we have always felt exceptionally safe...
(from humans that is, sharks not so much).
Please send more info so I can decide whether to be more vigilant in future!
(BTW definitely a trad venue - get yer jam on).
