Markings on routes

Post by justin »

Tonight I got a report that someone is making an 'R' in chalk on the route Paws at Oudtshoorn. Presumably the 'R' indicates 'Right' (hand/foot hold).

The first time the 'R' marking was seen, it was rubbed out (before the Easter weekend) and then it appeared again after a busy Easter weekend.  The marking is located at the first hard section of the route.

There are a number of reasons why one shouldn't be making markings on routes. Please lets not have any more markings on routes.
Below are pics of the offending 'R'.

I tried using the right hand on that hold but it sucked. Please don't leave incorrect beta on the wall, thank you.
