Hey all,
I'm moving from the UK to CT for a few months in November. Have nothing to go off except I'd like to be close to a wall so I can pop by after work.
Is this a good idea? What's the area around CityRock like? I'm working in Khayelitsha, so living there is not a desirable option for me.
Thanks in advance for your collective wisdom:)
Cat
PS I'll post in an appropriate thread closer to the time, but if anyone is kind enough to show me around CT, I have sport gear (rope & draws), car, & plenty of psyche - get in touch!

Hi Cat,
Keep in mind that CityROCK are moving (from Observatory) to Paarden Eiland very soon.
Cape Town to Paarden Eiland takes about 15 mins by car.
Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory are all options.
--> It’s official. CityROCK Cape Town is moving to Paarden Eiland in late 2017.

Re: Living near CityRock?
Hi Catherine,
I'm living in that area (Observatory) and it is a really pleasant one. Close to CityRock, you will find lower main road, with its myriad of nice cafés and places to hang out. The rest of the neighborhood is mostly residential.
On the other hand, CityRock will be moving on decembre 1st (see here: http://www.climbing.co.za/2017/08/new-c ... cape-town/), and I don't know if the new place is going to be as nice to live in.
Enjoy Cape Town !

Wow, thanks everyone - I didn't know about the move. Still seems Obs is a good location to move to, but I'm glad I asked now!
