Hi Folks,

The Endless Horizon
by Matt Bush
The short:
Matt recounts his journey, with videos and photos, to establish one of his most bold and daring ascents to date— a near featureless 40 foot granite boulder in Cosy Bay.
The long:
The Endless Horizon (V9/7C) - Granite High Balling in Cosy Bay
Matt explores the Atlantic coastline for his next project. While driving the Atlantic road he spots a 40 foot granite boulder at the water's edge in Cosy Bay. He shares the story of what it takes to establish this ground breaking first ascent on one of the most formidable rock types, Cape Granite. Matt says, "When I stood beneath the giant boulder I had found a dream climb. It glistened in the sunlight right at the water's edge. Yet the epic scale of the challenge dawned upon me. The rock is sharp and almost featureless. To achieve a ropeless first ascent would demand careful planning and perfect execution. There is no room for error. The name has two important meanings for me. Firstly, it captures the feeling of Endless space over the horizon. Secondly, it represents breaking limits and expanding the bounds of personal possibility. This goes up as one of my all-time best climbs."
