Hi Folks,
Notice for the slideshow on 7th May 2019
The Angles of Aconcagua
with Martin Wohlfarter and Remy Kloos
The same mountain can give vastly different experiences and be highly unpredictable. Martin and Remy will share their stories from separate and contrasting trips to Aconcagua.
Tony Lourens will kick the evening off by revealing a new crag on the Southern Peninsula.
Bios
Martin:
Born in Switzerland to parents who met in the mountains, I have always found to be happiest with my boots and backpack on. Although a regular and avid hiker, it is only during the past six months that I have entered high altitude climbing, attempting Aconcagua and Elbrus. These mountains have been humbling, but this new experience has been most exhilarating.
Remy:
Remy’s passion for high-altitude mountaineering began about three and a half years ago. In a search to gain some perspective in her life, she climbed Kilimanjaro on a solo adventure. Since then she has climbed three of the seven summits and intends on summiting the remaining four by 2021. Mountains are her home, they bring her hope and they fuel her with a deep and powerful sense of belonging.

I'm interested in attending but I am not a member of MCSA , will I still be able to come? I've never been before.

Re: MCSA Slideshow 7th May
Hey would anyone who managed to make the talk mind sharing where the new crag is that Tony unveiled? I suppose he'll probably do an updated Cape Peninsula Classics book at some point?

The Crags are left of Steenberg Ridge.
The rock looks of great quality. Well protected.
Walk-in 45 mins
Grades: 12 - 25
There are also a bunch of fun scramble routes in the area.
There is a MCSA meet happening there this Saturday (Tony is the organiser) - Meet at The Toad parking area at 08:15
Come join us this Saturday at a climbing meet at some new awesome trad crags above Boyes Drive. Meet 8.15 at the Toad pub parking area at the start of Boyes drive. You must be self sufficient. Bring all your own kit, etc. see you there.
