First Tuesday social: On the 7th March 2023 Karen van der Westhuizen and Justin Lawson will give a talk titled: 'Exploring Angola/Namibia by Road'
Karen and Justin took a 5 week road trip through Namibia and Angola in search of the famous R5/Litre fuel. Wild camping with a non-4x4 (and broken diff-lock) and searching for climbing (they didn't find much... although a chief in fake Croc shoes did lead them up a granite dome (onsight solo for the full team!)
Additional adventures included: Lobito rush hour traffic, sleeping at a fuel station, amazing rock formations in Namibe, corrugations that turned (long life) milk to yoghurt, close shaves with pot poles, elephants that forced us to relocate camp and a papsak explosion over climbing gear prior to Spitskoppe.
Doors open at 6.30pm, talk starts at 7.30pm
