Peers Cave, Cape Town

Post by Barnabe »

Hi guys and girls,

Are some of you keen on going climbing one of those days at Peers cave?

We (my girlfriend and I) are in Muizenberg near the railway for a few days and we are quite curious to visit that crag!

Have a good one!

So long as you know that there are some safety issues there and there’s this weird thing at a few sectors where the anchors are place over the top of the cliff, making it impossible to clean and lower off with fraying your rope.

Ya unfortunately there are major safety concerns at Peers Cave.
Only option is to go in a big group.
Rather go to Silvermine or even Lakeside Pinnacle.

Hi Barnabe

This Sunday 10am a bunch of us from Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Somerset West are sports climbing at Kleinmond. You're welcome to join if you're keen.

Also, a German exchange student from Stellenbosch is keen to boulder at Paarl Rocks. I can get you in contact with him in case you're looking for more boulderers.

Hi,
It's very sad that we can't go to this crag safely.
Until the government sorts out safety for it's citizens I say this is a red zone.

On a happier note, we have many great world class crags available that are at times desolate.

Chose those ones rather.
Happy climbing,
Cormac
