Those biners are not UIAA/CE, it would be stamped or etched on the biner.RyanStellies wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 10:31 am

The manufacturer had a UIAA certification, but it expired in 2023.
You can get Flashed screwgates for R45 more from CityRock (less with discount)

Thanks Nic!
I just had a closer look, and indeed couldn't find a CE-number stamped/engraved on them.
The screwgates were purchased in October 2023, while Naumone's certificate was still in effect.
They were bought off Amazon, where they were (and still are) advertised as UIAA certified, with a screenshot of the UIAA certificate attached (valid until 31 Dec 2023, same as your PDF link). Based on the packaging they adhere to the ASTM F1774 Standard Specification for Climbing and Mountaineering Carabiners.
How do I interpret the expiration of Naumone's UIAA certificate?
When Naumone had UIAA certification in the past, which has expired since - does that imply these screwgates should only be used outside of climbing (and slacklining, highlining)?
Is climbing gear only certified when a CE-number is stamped on it? My Black Diamond and Wild Country draws all have CE-numbers stamped on them (both gates and the dog-bone), but neither my Black Diamond ATC nor my Wild Country ATC have them.
Would this be another case of false advertising on Amazon, or would Namone have manufactured the screwgates before they got certification, and just never stamped their already manufactured products once they got the certificates?

As far as I know, part of the CE/UIAA certification is that they need to continue to batch test the gear. If you don't renew the certification, there's no testing of the batch. CE and UIAA both have pretty explicit rules about marking of gear (there's a lot of fake stuff out there).
Anyway, personally, I'd rather spend a little more and get legit gear from a legit manufacturer that keeps up with the certifications.
