How experienced and how well equipped? Should the person have their own rope? Certainly their own wetsuit.
River levels will be slightly higher this time of year I expect?

By that I mean proficient at abseiling, general ropework, scrambling and swimming. A full wetsuit is essential as is a harness, helmet, cowstails and durable drybag. Depending on the kloof and conditions, a bouyancy aid, neoprene gloves and socks may be appropriate. No hiking rucksack, only purpose-made bags with drainage holes. An extra rope in a drybag is ideal in case one gets caught up the creek with a stuck rope!

I've done lots of kloofing around the Stellenbosch/Worcester area, which kloofs are you planning on doing?

It is going to be COLD!
Happy climbing

Yes, I expect it to be cold. I did a few trips in Scotland in March, which I expect was a lot colder than a Western Cape Autumn. With the right equipment, preparation and strategy I think the cold will be acceptable. The Europeans continue canyoning throughout the Winter, and sometimes use ice anchors! Why don't we? Of course the seasonal rainfall is a major consideration.

Definition of cold is all down to perception and equipment!
