I stand corrected here, but my understanding is that MCSA members (yes with valid, paid-up membership cards) are exempt from the activity permit requirement (for sport-climbing) because of the MCSA's contribution to the sport climbing EMP, and the hands-on work detailed in the EMP such as maintaining paths.

Good point I never thought of that!
The poles were already there-from previous path building at Main crag-whom paid for the poles?-You will have to ask Andy, I got the stakes (would have been paid for by MCSA) from Andy- All the equipment used was our own, except a drill bit and attachment from Andy.
It took us 2 hrs to build, we need to go back and do 2 more, as we ran out of stakes.

Bolting lines is easy! We must also be conscious of it impact on the surrounding environment!

Nice one guys. Good to see some initiative being taken. Anybody else keen to do something similar please contact the MCSA - we will gladly help facilitate / pay for any work that needs to be done.
